Friends in the business

The world of film and TV is very interesting, mainly because there are rules and there no rules. There are many departments, actors, producers, writers, directors, executive producers, editors, hair, makeup, wardrobe, and so on. Being in this industry from hair, makeup and wardrobe to now writer and producing I have met some great people and of course some awful people such as life. I always try to maintain connections with people and develop a true friendship as organic as I really can. I have to be honest, it's hard, you never know who to trust, who is using you, who only want to take pictures and post to flex and who won't steal your ideas and resources. I actually have some very powerful connections that I could call, but I feel you get one. When you decide to reach out to your famous friend, you better have your shit together. If you cross the line and you don't come to the table prepare and ready, that could be it. Do you know how may projects actually come to life from concept to reality? But how do you take advantage of you connections and resources? Easy, you grind and when you have something you are proud of, you invite your friends to come out to support you, you ask your friends for advice, you ask your friend to mentor you, that's how you keep connected. Asking someone to invest or be in something that you haven't even written a word for is stupid, lol don't do that, besides, if you do this right you wouldn't have to ask for anything, they will ask you to be a part of your project.
