Our people are dying

This has been a rough year for our industry. The things that are coming to light with mental health and suicides, abuse and DUI have always been our shame. Thing is every industry has its secrets, but I guess in hospitality it's hard because we are always taking care of others we often let ourselves fall. It's hard to let people know you are not ok and it's even harder to asks for help...so where does that leave us? Someone I love very much is crying out for help and is lonely and dealing with my day to day and my struggles I often feel bad because all I can offer is a text that I love them. I never know if that is enough, but I know it's what I can do. The ones we feel are the strongest are the ones we should check on the most. They carry the weight of everything and will never lean on you. You truly never know what a person is going through so treat them with kindness, text or call just because, not because you want or need something, pop up to their bars for a hug
